The Apostle John was exiled on the Island of Patmos. It was a place for those who were considered “dangerous to society.” It was on Patmos that John received an heavenly vision. He saw the resurrected Jesus sitting on His heavenly throne and his senses were overwhelmed.
But there was a purpose to this revelation. John was given seven letters to distribute to seven different churches. These letters teach us what it means to be the Church and to carry on the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
